Kittysitting
Looks like Ed and I are going to be substitute housemonkeys for a while. I’ve only ever had fish, and they all died, so the cat’s owner has been warned that he’s taking a certain risk. On the other hand, I’ve been thinking about getting my own cat for years, on and off, and this is a great opportunity for a test drive.

[...] Minx, our foster cat, has been back with us for a little over a week. Considering that he got a rabies shot on his first day here, he’s doing very well. I think he’s over the discomfort of being moved, having spent most of the first few days in at least one extremely good hiding place. (My current theory is that it must be Ed’s closet, because it’s full and disorganized enough that I could be unfindable in there. I haven’t ruled out the possibility of an alternate dimension, either.) Fortunately, our furry friend is flea-free (and ear mite-free) this time, courtesy of the same shot. He’s been quite social the past couple of days, to the point of climbing onto my tummy and doing a very good heating pad imitation. In fact, I’m enjoying his company so much that I may have to convince his owner to move up here, just so that I can continue to see the cat. [...]
